Great to meet you!

It truly is nice to see you. I am Dr. Tinai James, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the founder of a practice dedicated to the next generation of high-achievers. With over seven years of experience in major healthcare systems, I specialize in supporting youth, teens, and BIPOC college students as they navigate the heavy weight of expectation and major life transitions.

My approach is built on the RCB FrameworkTM: Rooted, Culture-First, and Brave. I believe therapy should be a Brave Space where you don’t have to code-switch to be heard. Whether you are a student facing the "identity shift" of campus life or a parent seeking a therapist who understands your family’s cultural background, my goal is to provide clinical expertise that feels relevant to your real life.

In our sessions, we combine PhD-level clinical science with practical, goal-oriented strategies. We will work together to tackle anxiety and social pressure while building the cultural confidence you need to thrive. I am currently licensed to see clients in Georgia and 22+ states via PSYPACT, offering high-energy, modern care that honors exactly who you are. Let’s build your brave.

My approach to therapy

What sets my practice apart is the RCB FrameworkTM: Rooted, Culture-First, and Brave. As a PhD-level psychologist, I don’t just offer traditional talk therapy; I provide a specialized clinical experience designed for the modern high-achiever. My methods are grounded in evidence-based science but delivered through a lens that honors your unique identity and lived experience.

The "No Code-Switch" Guarantee:

Clients often choose to work with me because I provide a space where they can drop the mask. Whether you are a college student navigating a PWI (Predominantly White Institution) or a teen managing the "heavy weight of expectation," you don't have to translate your culture for me.

Results-Driven Growth:

We don’t just vent; we build. My approach is high-energy and goal-oriented. You can expect to walk away with a "Brave Toolkit"—practical strategies to manage anxiety, set boundaries, and navigate identity shifts. The result is a version of you that is more rooted in your values and brave enough to show up authentically in every room you enter.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is all about building a Brave Space where you—or your child—can feel seen and heard without the pressure of code-switching. We start by "breaking the ice" and getting comfortable with the virtual environment. Think of this as a collaborative conversation rather than a stiff clinical interview.

As a PhD-level psychologist, I use this time to understand your unique story, your cultural background, and the "heavy weight of expectation" you might be carrying. We will discuss your specific goals and how the RCB FrameworkTM (Rooted, Culture-First, Brave) can help you navigate anxiety or identity shifts.

By the end of our time together, you’ll have a clear sense of our roadmap and, most importantly, how it feels to have a therapist who speaks your language. We’ll wrap up with a "Pulse Check" to ensure we are a great fit and outline exactly how we’ll build your brave moving forward.
