Great to meet you!

With over eight years of experience supporting adults in crisis settings, private practice, and medical oncology, care is grounded in both clinical expertise and genuine compassion. Tracie Coleman, LCSW, earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Aurora University and a Master of Social Work from Dominican University with a specialization in military and veterans. Therapy focuses on helping adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, life transitions, and the emotional impact of chronic illness, cancer, caregiving, and medical stress. A warm, practical, and supportive approach is used to help clients build coping skills, emotional resilience, and confidence in daily life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, understood, and never judged. Treatment is tailored to each person’s needs while helping clients build tools they can use in everyday life.

I often use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, and supportive therapy. Areas of focus include anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship stress, and the emotional impact of chronic illness, cancer, caregiving, and medical challenges.

My goal is to help clients gain insight, build resilience, improve coping skills, and feel more confident managing life’s challenges while moving toward meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment in the first session where they can feel comfortable sharing what has brought them to therapy. We will discuss current concerns, personal history, strengths, and any goals they would like to work toward, while moving at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

The first session is also an opportunity to begin building a strong therapeutic connection and to identify practical next steps. Together, we will clarify priorities, create initial goals, and develop a plan tailored to their needs so they can begin feeling supported, understood, and hopeful about progress moving forward.
