I am a fully Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I graduated with my masters in Mental health Counseling at Nyack College 4 years ago. I am specialized in trauma- informed therapy. Through Mending the Soul I help facilitate group therapy for survivors of physical, mental, spiritual, sexual and verbal abuse. I have a lot of experience working with grief, anxiety, depression and peri and postpartum care for women.
I take on a person-centered approach in my style of counseling. I believe you as the client have the answers to your problems. It is my job as a therapist to offer different tools and resources to help expand our perception in problem solving. My goal is to create a safe space where we can process our thoughts and emotions without judgement or fear.
Client's can expect a safe space to develop report and relationship. My philosophy is that therapy isn't meant to be forever. My goal is to empower my clients to feel confident that they can problem solve in the real world, by using the tools taught and learned from therapy. Our thoughts lead to emotions which lead to behaviors. By understanding and raising awareness of our thoughts and emotions, we can make better decisions out of our choices.
