Great to meet you!

Vanessa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. She believes healing begins with being heard and is deeply committed to creating a space where clients feel safe, understood, and respected.

In addition to general mental health concerns, Vanessa has a particular interest in working with athletes and individuals in performance-driven environments, including the performing arts. She supports clients experiencing performance anxiety, chronic stress, identity challenges and injury-related distress, especially when these experiences begin to impact confidence, focus, or overall well-being.

Vanessa approaches therapy with the understanding that people are more than their roles or achievements. Her work centers on helping clients reconnect with their inner resilience, explore their identity beyond performance, and build sustainable ways of coping both on and off the field, stage, or court.

My approach to therapy

Vanessa’s approach to therapy is relational, compassionate, and collaborative. She believes the therapeutic relationship is foundational and works to create a space that feels grounding, empowering, and rooted in trust. Sessions are paced thoughtfully, allowing clients to feel supported while also gently challenged when appropriate.

She integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy, tailoring her approach to each individual’s needs and goals. Vanessa also values creativity, cultural awareness, and storytelling as meaningful pathways to healing.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, processing trauma, managing performance-related pressure, or working through complex emotional patterns, Vanessa aims to help you gain insight, develop practical tools, and feel more connected to yourself.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, Vanessa will take time to get to know you, your story, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to work toward. There is no pressure to have everything figured out. This initial conversation is about building a foundation of trust and understanding.

You can expect Vanessa to show up with warmth, curiosity, and respect for your lived experience. Together, you will begin to explore challenges, identify strengths, and create goals that feel realistic and meaningful. Over time, therapy will focus on helping you process what feels heavy, build resilience, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
