Great to meet you!

I’m Velia R. Bradley, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Louisiana with over 10 years of experience supporting people through emotional and psychological challenges. I earned my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and am currently pursuing a doctorate focused on Counseling Education, Supervision, Trauma, and Crisis Interventions. My approach is holistic and client-centered, with care for the mind, body, soul, and spirit. I meet you where you are and work alongside you at your pace, with honesty, warmth, and respect.

My approach to therapy

My work is rooted in trauma-informed care, and I support adolescents, young adults, veterans, and older adults through trauma, crisis, life transitions, and other complex emotional experiences. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, CPT, DBT, Prolonged Exposure, grief counseling, anger management, parent management training, and chronic pain support to tailor care to your needs. My first session is laid back and welcoming, with a focus on helping you feel safe, heard, and understood.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I’ll get to know you through thoughtful questions, active listening, and an initial or updated assessment so we can build a clear plan together. I may use tools like the PHQ-9, GAD-7, ASRS, SPIN, or PCL-C to better understand your needs and guide treatment. I also believe in being transparent about who I am, how I work, and what you can expect. By the end of our first session, my hope is that you feel supported, informed, and clear on your next steps.
