Great to meet you!

Welcome! I'm Amy Harrison, a Clinical Social Worker since 2016 with experience in the field of mental health and substance use disorders. I got my masters degree in Social Worker from Wayne State University- one of the highest ranked social work programs in the nation. I am passionate about helping clients challenge themselves, explore their underlying thought patterns and beliefs that may be interfering with their lives, as well as enhancing their lives, and creating a holistic approach to wellness and identity. My goal is to empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives by addressing the interconnected aspects of their mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being.

My approach to therapy

I utilize a client-centered, evidence-based approach, customized to meet the unique needs of each individual. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, 12-step approach, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic perspectives.

What you can expect from me

I like to create an atmosphere of warmth and non-judgmental space to help you feel comfortable to open up and start exploring your own mind. We'll work together to meet your goals, even if you need help identifying what those goals are. I check in regularly about how the sessions are going for you to make sure you are getting what you need from them.
