I am a clinical social worker based in Pittsburgh, PA. I practice therapy from a client-centered, anti-oppressive lens and I specialize in working with gender and sexual minorities (LGBTQIA+) and people who have experienced complex trauma. I have worked with many different populations, but especially enjoy working with people who have struggled with difficulties related to power and systemic oppression, or who are working through a period of life change.
I work hard to be someone you can trust and be your authentic self with, and I would like to collaborate with you to help you grow at your own pace. If we begin the process of psychotherapy together, I hope to help you live a life that is in line with your goals and values. DBT and psychodynamic approaches heavily influence my work.
My clinical style is warm, relaxed, and affirming, and I highly value balance and flexibility as a clinician. As I lean on dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), I often focus on helping clients honor and hold space for conflicting feelings, thoughts, and beliefs. I often use the power of narrative and storytelling to help clients to build insight, create meaning, and find acceptance. I believe it is possible to both validate painful life experiences and also acknowledge the need for change.
