Great to meet you!

I am Dr. Ann Dillard, LMFT, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience supporting individuals and families through seasons of transition, healing, and relational repair. I hold a doctorate in behavioral health and have spent many years working at the intersection of mental health, cultural identity, faith, and relational well-being.

My professional background includes clinical therapy, consultation, and training, with a particular emphasis on attachment, trauma, and culturally responsive care. I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, relational distress, grief and loss, life transitions, and identity-related concerns. I also bring focused expertise in mother–daughter relationships, intergenerational patterns, and experiences shaped by culture, migration, and family systems.

For the past 12 years, I have served adults from diverse backgrounds, including women, caregivers, faith-informed clients, and individuals from historically marginalized communities who desire therapy that honors both their emotional experiences and cultural context.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed, and brain–body based. I believe healing occurs when individuals feel emotionally safe, deeply seen, and supported in understanding how their nervous system, lived experiences, and relationships shape their current challenges.

I integrate modalities such as Brainspotting Neuroexperiential Therapy, EMDR, IFS, somatic approaches, attachment-based therapy, and family systems work. Together, we work with insight, conversation, and the body and nervous system to gently process emotional pain, stress, and trauma at a pace that feels respectful and empowering.

Therapy with me is collaborative. I honor your wisdom, your story, and your readiness for change. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you build emotional regulation, clarity, and self-trust while supporting meaningful and sustainable growth.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, grounded, and nonjudgmental space. We will focus on getting to know you, what brings you to therapy, what you hope for, and what feels most important to you right now.

I will ask thoughtful questions to understand your experiences, relationships, and stressors, while also paying attention to how your body and nervous system respond as you share. We will move at a pace that feels safe and respectful, with no pressure to disclose more than you are ready to.

By the end of the session, many clients report feeling more settled, clearer, and hopeful. Together, we will begin identifying goals and shaping a therapeutic plan that aligns with your needs, values, and capacity, laying the foundation for meaningful healing work ahead. Most importantly, we will determine the goodness of fit.
