My experience has included training in evidence-based and trauma-informed practices to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and family systems approaches. I also strongly focus on the mind-body-spirit connection and utilize a holistic approach for individuals.
I incorporate mindfulness approaches and guided visualization techniques to assist my clients in learning to tune into and trust their own emotions and intuition. My experience with children, adolescents, and adults in various therapeutic settings has confirmed the importance
of a relationship-focused clinical approach. This has been supported by my years providing services to diverse populations, including supporting transitioning refugee families here in Charlotte, creating and running a holistic women’s group. I am also a trained community volunteer Guardian ad Litem (GAL) who is appointed,
with a Guardian ad Litem attorney, by a district court judge to investigate and determine the needs of abused and neglected children petitioned into the court system by the Department of Social Services.
