Great to meet you!

I've lived in 5 states now and each has been a life lesson. I'm a mom to a toddler, have a twin sister, and I tackle relational issues head on in both personal and professional lives. I am an extremely curious person, I never presume to know anything; this makes it easier to learn more about people. I have special interest in eating disorders and suicidality, and have worked in all levels of care for them. I am very open and find self-disclosure to be a therapeutic technique to breaking the ice and talking about hard things.

My approach to therapy

I start where you are, figure out where you want to be, and map my path according to the values you practice versus those you preach. My favorite analogy is the House on Fire: you are the house, what we see (behaviors) is the smoke, the problem or stressor is the fire, and the room you envision the smoke coming from is where those problems and behaviors exist the most. Obviously, this analogy isn't perfect, so it always has the opportunity to be personalized.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to have more effective communication strategies around the problem/stressor, greater insight into how your thought patterns lead to the coping tactics you use, and exposure techniques around the things you struggle to face.
