Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome to my page! You have made an important decision to find a better you in the therapy process. You are the expert and I help by listening, offering alternatives and acknowledging the strengths that you may have forgotten that you already possess.

I offer a person-centered, solution focused, strength-based approach while using evidenced based practices that meet your needs. I began counseling ages 13 up to older adults since 2000 as a substance abuse therapist and completed a Master of Clinical Counseling & Psychology in Florida at Troy University.

I specialize in assisting people with trauma, emotional regulation, neurodiversity and life transitions.

My approach to therapy

You decide what is the most important aspect of your mental health that you desire to work on first. Together, we decide what modality and methods work best for you. I like to incorporate any of your cultural and spiritual beliefs that are important to your well-being.

I am certified to work with those who are on the autism spectrum, attention deficit disorder and/or have higher-functioning intellectual disabilities. I know several evidenced-based practices and am certified for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR therapy), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Sand Play.

What you can expect from me

I like to create a safe, comfortable and calming atmosphere where you feel welcome. You will find that my decor incorporates nature and many fidgets that you are welcome to use, such as balls, a weighted blanket, spinners and squeezes. I believe in strength-based goals incorporating smaller steps in which we can both see your progress. These should be fluid and changed, as needed.
