Great to meet you!

Brent Heinze, LPCC has a master’s degree in clinical counseling and has been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. He is a sex-positive counselor specializing in working with gay men, sexuality, couples, and non-traditional relationships, as well as being a level 2 EMDR trained therapist. He is also a published author of the "Redefining Normal" self-help books.

My approach to therapy

I enjoy working with individuals who want to improve themselves, overcome challenges, and live their best possible lives. He focuses on working as a collaborative partner in developing methods to lead a happier and more fulfilling life. Many clients express a desire to become more outgoing, overcome social anxiety, develop better relationships with others, or focus on addressing past issues that continue to impact them and cause disruption in their lives.

What you can expect from me

I integrate the intake process into the first few sessions to allow clients to start addressing concerns immediately instead of having to wait until later sessions. My style is very conversational and I prefer clients to not have to overthink telling their story, just letting them talk and I’ll put the pieces together. It’s important to feel that counseling is a team effort and is not over complicated with lots of jargon, just productive discussions to support positive life changes.
