Great to meet you!

I hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with an emphasis in Multicultural Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. As well as a Master's of Science in Education in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton. Paired with a Master of Science in Sport Science with an emphasis on Coaching Education and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Sport Sciences. My professional journey and lived experiences shape how I show up in the therapy space—with empathy, cultural awareness, and a deep respect for each client’s story.

I am a former military kid and collegiate athlete, experiences that give me a firsthand understanding of structure, discipline, transition, performance pressure, and identity development. Clinically, I bring a broad range of experience across private practice, higher education as a college counselor, in-school therapy, outpatient care, residential treatment, and group counseling. This diverse background allows me to meet clients where they are across various stages of life and levels of care.

I specialize in working with high performers, including coaches, physicians, counselors, and perfectionists; individuals navigating athletics, military, and first-responder cultures; and those exploring identity-related concerns. My areas of expertise also include race-based stress and trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, relationships, self-awareness and self-esteem, and career development. I am dually trained as a licensed clinician and a certified mental performance consultant specializing in sports psychology.

Above all, I value authenticity, collaboration, and empowerment. My goal is to provide a supportive, culturally affirming space where clients feel understood and equipped with the tools to grow, heal, and move forward with confidence and purpose.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is humanistic, strengths-based, and solution-focused, rooted in the belief that clients are the experts of their own lives. I strive to create a supportive, culturally affirming space where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.

I integrate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based interventions, while also incorporating leadership development techniques and skill-building strategies when appropriate. I work from a multicultural and culturally responsive lens, honoring each client’s lived experiences, identities, and environmental influences through an ecological perspective.

Therapy with me is collaborative, goal-oriented, and practical. Together, we identify meaningful goals, build on existing strengths, and develop tools that support emotional well-being, personal growth, resilience, and effective decision-making—both in everyday life and in leadership roles. My goal is to help clients navigate challenges with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

What you can expect from me

Dr. Brittany believes therapy and counseling are a lot like using a GPS. You may know the destination you want to reach—whether that’s healing, clarity, balance, or growth—and my role is to help guide you along the way. Life is a journey, and you do not have to navigate it alone.

During your first session, we will focus on getting to know one another and creating a safe, supportive space for you to share your story. We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, your current challenges, strengths, and goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions about the therapeutic process and my approach.

The first session is collaborative, low-pressure, and centered on you. Together, we’ll begin identifying a direction forward and determining the tools and strategies that best support your unique needs—setting the foundation for meaningful, goal-oriented work in future sessions.
