Great to meet you!

The services I provide clients, includes viewing them from what has happened to them in the range of trauma and challenging experiences. I am a certified EMDR trauma specialist. I am also a family and couple therapist by training, so helping them have better ways to communicate and to connect with others in their lives is something that I truly enjoy seeing happen in the process of their growth. I have worked in a variety of settings including community substance use treatment, mental health treatment, and the private practice settings. My doctorate has allowed me the opportunity to train many successful counselors in the field.

My approach to therapy

I want each person to have a sense of care and hope that comes as a part of the counseling process, because when embarking on change, someone understanding is so important. I enjoy getting to know my clients and their challenges. I utilize their story to help them set and reach goals. I have multiple theoretical approaches that are soundly researched that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), family systems, motivational interviewing, person centered, and solution focused.

What you can expect from me

I will provide support, coping resources, empowerment to find their answers, and challenge thoughts that are not filled with truth. I will encourage to use the time to talk about things that you want to work on, while also using EMDR processing, which is an interesting approach that does not require much talking at all.
