Great to meet you!

Greetings! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Maryland with a Master's degree from Bowie State University. I’ve been practicing as a therapist for seven years and have over ten years of experience in the mental health field, working in areas such as case management, crisis intervention, addictions, and domestic violence. As a therapist, I like to think of myself as a driving instructor—you’re in the driver’s seat of your life, steering the way. My role is to provide support, guidance, and course correction when needed, helping you develop the skills to navigate life with confidence and purpose.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical, with space for both deep reflection and real-life skill building. I work with clients by helping them understand patterns, emotions, relationships, and nervous system responses while also identifying concrete steps they can take toward change. My style integrates evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and somatic awareness, while tailoring treatment to each client rather than using a cookie-cutter approach. I often support adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship stress, and the process of reconnecting with themselves.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, clients can expect a calm, supportive space where we begin getting to know what brought them to therapy, what has been feeling difficult, and what they hope will feel different. I focus on creating an environment that feels collaborative, nonjudgmental, and grounded, where clients do not have to have everything perfectly figured out before they start. Together, we will explore current concerns, relevant history, strengths, coping patterns, and initial goals for therapy. By the end of the first few sessions, we typically begin identifying meaningful treatment goals, practical next steps, and a clearer direction for our work together.
