Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Emily, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering services in NC and FL. I attended Appalachian State University for undergrad, and completed my Master in Social Work at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. As a therapist, I've worked closely with children, parents, teens, and young adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, challenging life transitions, and helping people gain a stronger sense of self.

My approach to therapy

My approach is strongly rooted in knowing that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the most significant predictors of success in therapy. Taking a person-centered approach, I pull from various modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and others to meet your needs in a way that feels human and not too clinical. I'm also trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and have notable experience providing trauma therapy for children and their supporting caregivers.

What you can expect from me

In our initial session, I want to gain as much insight as possible into who you are and what brings you to therapy. I hope to get to know you in a professional, yet welcoming and friendly manner so that you feel comfortable being open and honest about the goals you’d like to achieve in our time working together. In the following sessions, I show up with your goals in mind to guide our conversations, but prioritize what feels most significant to you.
