Great to meet you!

I am a bilingual English-Japanese Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Counselor Addiction Specialist. I received a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Addictions Counseling in 2018 at Appalachian State University. I have experience working in a residential substance use treatment facility, as a counselor. Prior to that, I also did work as a crisis worker and an Intensive In-Home clinician in rural areas.

My approach to therapy

My approach to counseling is based on Person-Centered theory. My goal as a counselor is to support the process of self-discovery and to enrich the lives of others. I work with individuals with a wide range of issues including addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, stress management, identity development, low self-esteem, and relational conflicts.

What you can expect from me

I will put forth the effort to collaborate with you to accomplish your goals. While the Person-Centered approach is the foundation of my practice, I also integrate mindfulness-based, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapies. I strive to promote clients' welfare by presenting here-and-now awareness, a genuine and empathetic relationship with clients, and a collaborative effort at helping to minimize the discrepancies between their emotions and behaviors.
