Great to meet you!

My name is Glenroy Bristol. I am an English-speaking Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. For the past 18+ years. My approach to therapy is collaborative, evidence-based, and deeply centered on helping clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and practical tools for lasting change. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist in private practice, I work with individuals, couples, and families to identify the patterns of thinking, behavior, and emotional responses that may be contributing to distress, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, low self-esteem, life transitions, and interpersonal challenges.

I believe that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, challenge distorted beliefs, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to life’s challenges.

My approach is culturally sensitive, client-centered, and grounded in respect, empathy, and professionalism. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore difficult emotions while building healthier ways of coping and functioning.

Clients' first session with me will be welcoming, supportive, and focused on creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where they feel comfortable sharing their concerns.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is supportive, structured, goal-oriented, and compassionate, and it also encourages accountability, personal growth, and emotional resilience.

I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress management difficulties, trauma-related concerns, relationship conflict, identity struggles, adjustment challenges, grief, self-defeating patterns, and difficulties related to life transitions. I also work with couples to improve communication, rebuild trust, strengthen emotional connection, and develop healthier relational dynamics.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, my primary goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the client’s current challenges, emotional concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for therapy. We will discuss what brought them to treatment, how their concerns are impacting their daily functioning, relationships, emotional well-being, or overall quality of life, and what they hope to achieve through the therapeutic process.

The first session often includes:

· Discussing presenting concerns and personal history

· Exploring current stressors, symptoms, and emotional experiences

· Identifying strengths, coping strategies, and support systems

· Clarifying treatment goals and expectations for therapy

· Providing education about the therapeutic process and how CBT works

Together, we typically establish initial goals that are realistic, measurable, and tailored to the client’s unique needs. These goals may include reducing anxiety or depressive symptoms, improving self-esteem, strengthening communication skills, managing stress more effectively, developing healthier thought patterns, improving relationships, processing difficult experiences, or increasing emotional stability.
