Great to meet you!

I am a clinical mental health counselor with over a decade of experience working with clients from all walks of life. Whether this is someone’s first time seeking support or one of many steps in a healing journey, I relish the opportunity to walk alongside my clients towards whichever goals they seek to achieve. I primarily work with adolescents and adults overcoming symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, attachment disorders, and substance misuse. I utilize treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Additionally, I am a trained yoga instructor and pull from both physical and philosophical components of this practice.

My approach to therapy

In my practice, I seek to aid my clients in gaining or refining the necessary skills to create a foundation upon which they may build a life aligned with their values and create a sense of wholeness. This may look different for each individual. I pull from approaches which support the restructuring of thought patterns no longer serving you, help you to feel more connected to your emotions and body, support affirming decision-making, and encourage our minds to heal themselves. For some of us, finally having a space to talk through challenging thoughts, feelings, or events may be a significant relief. For others, it may feel like talking has not sufficiently supported the changes we need. Regardless of the methods we use, I will be there with compassion, humor, and a focus on all of the strengths you already have within you.

What you can expect from me

During an intake session, we will explore your background, current presenting concerns, and any outcomes you are hoping to achieve through therapy. We will discuss any successes or challenges you have faced in previous clinical experiences to identify which strategies may be helpful and how to build a trusting, supportive environment. From there, we will begin working towards your identified goals in session, including consistently evaluating progress and whether these have changed over time. We will celebrate wins and mistakes, always remembering that both are essential to growth!
