Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Pearson, and I draw on over 30 years of counseling experience helping individuals, couples, marriages, families, teens, children, and organizations work through life’s challenges. I support clients dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, anger, relationship issues, family conflict, addiction and alcohol concerns, military-related stress, and major life transitions. My background includes working with people across many stages of life, including active-duty military members, veterans, DoD staff, military families, couples preparing for marriage, families under stress, and individuals seeking healthier ways to live at home, at work, and in their relationships. I believe therapy should offer hope, practical support, and a clear path toward healthy change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is supportive, practical, and focused on helping clients create healthier patterns in daily life. In session, we may work on self-care strategies, communication skills, conflict resolution, stress management, emotional regulation, decision-making, relationship patterns, and ways to build healthier routines at home and in the workplace. I also provide support around marriage and premarital concerns, addiction and alcohol issues, criminality-related concerns, spirituality, religious counseling, spiritual direction, and pastoral care when that is meaningful to the client. My style is grounded, hopeful, and collaborative. I believe therapy should help people understand what is not working, build on their strengths, and move toward more effective, healthy, and purposeful living.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a respectful and supportive conversation about what brings them to therapy and what they hope to change. We will talk through current concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress, anger, relationship issues, family concerns, addiction or alcohol struggles, military-related stress, spiritual concerns, or challenges at home or work. I will begin learning about your background, your strengths, your relationships, and the goals that matter most to you. Together, we will start identifying practical next steps and a direction for therapy. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, encouraged, and more hopeful about the possibility of healthy change.
