Great to meet you!

I am passionate about helping parents and children feel closer and more connected. The demands of parenting can leave a person feeling spent, overwhelmed, and insecure. I provide a nonjudgmental space to explore all of it —and help you find peace and joy amid the chaos. I draw on many disciplines in my work because no two families are the same and no one discipline has all the answers. The best part of my job is seeing people grow after hardships and find their inner strength. I see adults and children (5-18), online and in person. I call coastal Maine home these days, but I grew up in New York City. I trained and practiced there for many years, in hospitals, schools and clinics. My clients come from all over New York, Illinois and Maine.

My approach to therapy

I have trained in many types of therapy so we can find the best fit for your needs. I think about therapy as a team effort. I will always explain our options and let you choose the best path forward. We will incorporate your unique strengths into our work together; if knitting helps you clarify your thoughts, bring some yarn. If you’d like worksheets to structure our sessions, no problem. Art, music, free writing— these all can deepen our work together in ways that resonate personally for you. Therapy is a balance of achieving results and maintaining flexibility, because sometimes life throws a curveball and we need to slow down to learn new lessons. I believe Hope is a powerful force for change, and that every person does better if they know someone believes in them.

What you can expect from me

My first priority is to learn what matters to you and your family. I listen without judgment and help you see your situation from new perspectives. Step by step, we will help you (or your child) heal and build confidence. I have no agenda except to help your family feel stronger, healthier and more resilient. When you have gotten what you need, I will help you plan for life after therapy.
