Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Jana. I'm a licensed therapist with nearly 17 years of experience specializing in anxiety, depression, and obsessive or intrusive thinking. I received my Bachelor's degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and my Master's degree in Psychology Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 8 years in public healthcare — an experience that shaped my practical, whole-person approach to care.

I work with early adolescents (ages 12 and up), teens, and adults, and also offer parent coaching for caregivers navigating the stress that often comes alongside a child's struggles. I specialize in anxiety disorders, and the kind of chronic overthinking that makes everyday decisions feel exhausting. I use evidence-based approaches including ERP, CBT, and DBT-informed skills, and tailor treatment to each person rather than following a one-size-fits-all model.

I provide culturally sensitive, gender-affirming, and trauma-informed care, and welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm and straightforward. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches — and tailor the work to fit you rather than following a rigid formula. I also bring in family systems thinking when it's relevant. The goal is a life that feels more manageable, and worthwhile.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other. There's no pressure to dive into the deep end right away — this is your time to share what's brought you to therapy, what's been stressful or unpleasant for you, and what you're hoping to get out of our work together.

I'll ask some questions to better understand your background, your life, and what you're experiencing, but the conversation will feel natural rather than like an intake form. By the end of our session, we'll have a clearer sense of where you are and begin thinking together about where you'd like to go.

My goal is for you to leave feeling heard — and with a sense of whether we're a good fit.
