Great to meet you!
My approach
I was trained in what's called Rogerian or Client-Centered therapy, but my work is highly integrative. My work with clients draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT), as well as Psychoanalytic Theory (more as a conceptual framework) and Mindfulness. The truth is, there is no "best approach" to therapy.
My client focus
I am comfortable with individuals who are stuck in ineffective behavior patterns, who are prisoners to limiting belief systems, and who might benefit from seeing their situation from an alternate vantage point.
My communication style
I am straightforward and direct. Sessions with me feel like authentic conversations, and I never see myself as the expert; you are the expert of all things uniquely you. I will challenge you and ask questions that might make you uncomfortable, but growth takes place right outside of our comfort zone.
How I help clients reach goals
Goal setting is a collaborative effort that is only possible once we meet and get to know each other. I will help you clarify what is important to you, and from there, we address barriers, obstacles, and possible pathways to your goals.
My journey to becoming a provider
I've always been drawn to authenticity and the desire to help. What drives me to continue this work is the gratitude I feel for being able to help someone.
