Great to meet you!

As a licensed therapist in Michigan, I bring 16 years of dedicated experience supporting individuals through complex life challenges. My practice centers on creating a compassionate, affirming space where clients can explore personal growth, healing, and self-discovery. I specialize in addressing a wide range of emotional experiences, including stress, anxiety, trauma, intimacy challenges, sexual addiction, and self-esteem concerns. My approach is deeply empathetic and tailored to each individual's unique journey, with a particular focus on supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, older adults, and those seeking a progressive, non-religious therapeutic environment. My therapeutic work spans diverse areas such as communication difficulties, social anxiety, anxiety, life transitions, relationship dynamics, attachment issues, negative core beliefs, and personal empowerment. I'm committed to helping clients navigate complex emotional landscapes, whether they're dealing with workplace stress, relationship challenges, or personal transformation. I believe in a holistic approach that honors each person's individual experiences and strengths, supporting clients as they develop deeper self-understanding, resilience, and meaningful life strategies.

My approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered, holistic, and tailored to your needs. I use evidence-based tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, core belief work, and solution-focused strategies. I’m direct, yet always empathetic, supportive, and non-judgmental. I’ll help you step outside your comfort zone when needed, while making sure you feel safe and understood.

Together, we’ll work on your goals using practical tools like worksheets and assessments, while building skills you can use in your everyday life. My hope is to help you feel more in control, confident, and empowered as you create the changes you want to see.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an important step toward growth, healing, and positive change. During this session, the focus will be on understanding your experiences, current concerns, and goals so we can begin developing a personalized approach to therapy.

At the start of the session, you will complete a mental health assessment. This assessment gathers information about your personal history, mental health symptoms, life stressors, and overall well-being. It helps provide a comprehensive picture of what you are experiencing now and how past experiences may be influencing your current challenges. This information allows therapy to be tailored to what is most relevant and meaningful for you.

We will then discuss your goals for therapy. This is an opportunity to share what you hope to work on, such as managing anxiety or depression, navigating life transitions, improving relationships, addressing sexual-based concerns, or strengthening coping skills. Together, we will clarify what progress and success look like for you and identify any patterns or barriers you would like to change.

By the end of the session, we will establish a clear plan moving forward. Based on your assessment and goals, I will outline therapeutic approaches that may be helpful, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, psychoeducation, or other evidence-based methods. This plan will serve as a roadmap for future sessions.

Throughout the session, you can expect a supportive, direct, and non-judgmental environment. The goal is to create a space where you feel safe to share openly while being encouraged to take meaningful steps toward change. Your first session lays the foundation for the therapeutic relationship and the work ahead, ensuring clarity, collaboration, and direction as we move forward together.
