Great to meet you!

One of the most courageous — and often frightening — decisions we can make is to turn inward and engage in the vulnerable work of understanding ourselves. Looking honestly at our stories, our wounds, our reactions, and our longings takes strength. If you are here, even considering this work, you have already taken an important first step.

I began my professional journey in faith-based settings, serving individuals, couples, and families for over 15 years. Today, I continue to work with people of faith while also supporting individuals who are questioning, reconstructing, or deconstructing their spiritual beliefs. I strive to create a space where your spiritual background — whether firmly held, evolving, or being reimagined — can be explored without judgment.

I am also an affirming LGBTQIA+ ally and am committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for clients of all identities and orientations.

In addition to traditional therapy, I offer therapeutic Tabletop Role-Playing Game (TTRPG) groups. These structured, clinically-informed groups use collaborative storytelling and gameplay to build emotional regulation skills, explore identity, strengthen social connections, and practice new relational patterns in a creative and engaging format.

Above all, I see therapy as a collaborative process. My role is to walk with you compassionately and intentionally as you move toward greater clarity, connection, and wholeness.

My approach to therapy

As a Licensed Professional Counselor for the past seven years, my clinical work is grounded in attachment science and evidence-based practice.

While I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a starting framework — helping clients understand patterns between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors — my primary orientation is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is an attachment-based model that focuses on understanding and reshaping emotional patterns in relationships. At the core of many struggles is a longing for secure attachment — to feel seen, safe, and valued in our relationships and within ourselves.

I am formally trained in EFT and am currently working toward certification. I serve on the Board of Advisors for Michigan EFT, the official state-affiliated organization recognized by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).

I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is used to process traumatic experiences, and I have completed workshop training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps clients compassionately understand and work with the different “parts” of themselves.

Whether we are working through trauma, relationship distress, identity development, faith transitions, or emotional regulation challenges, my approach integrates structure with compassion, clarity with curiosity, and intention with empathy.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is not about “having it all figured out.” It is about beginning.

You can expect a space where you are invited — not pressured — to share what brings you in. We will explore your current concerns, relevant history, and what you hope might be different in your life. I will ask thoughtful questions to better understand your relational patterns, emotional experiences, and attachment history.

You can also expect transparency. I will explain how I work, discuss goals, and outline what therapy might look like moving forward. If we are integrating faith, identity exploration, trauma processing, or relational work, we will move at a pace that feels grounded and safe.

Most importantly, you can expect to be met with compassion and respect. Therapy is both incredibly hard and incredibly rewarding work. My hope is that from the very first session, you experience a sense of safety and partnership as we begin that journey together.
