Great to meet you!

I’m so glad you’re here. Therapy is a relationship. It’s a particular kind of relationship, sure. But it’s absolutely a relationship. I’ve dedicated myself to working with compassion, candor, and warmth. Therapy can be hard, but it can also be a joy – when you work with me, you can expect both.

I’m unwilling to conform to the idea that healing is “supposed” to look like any one thing. We’ll work together to discover what healing or growth looks like for you.

Whether you’re in a complicated relationship, have experienced trauma, or if anxiety has you overpowered more often than you’d like, I’m here to help you move toward a preferred way of being.

My approach to therapy

Using a combination of talk, EMDR therapy, mindfulness and a solution-forward approach, we’ll build a plan tailored to your unique strengths and needs.

Therapy is a thing we do together. Yes, I’m really good at untangling problems, but YOU are the expert on your life. So it’s going to take both of us. I count on that.

In our work, you can expect no therapist mask, no distant professional persona, no pretense – just authentic connection. You can expect to gain new tools, perspectives, and freedom from the problems that have defined your limits (and perhaps, until now, have defined you).

Show up as you are. That’s what I’m gonna do. It’s not just therapy – it’s a relationship.

What you can expect from me

There are two things that I hold as a given when you come to therapy with me.

The first is that you are here because you have something you want to untangle – that there is something you want to change.

Second, I will not be what you expect from a therapist.

My goal is to help you move away from practices that are no longer working and toward a preferred way of being. I also want to help you embrace identity as a process, not a possession.

In our first session, we'll uncover what your hopes are if we are successful together. From there we start untangling.

I don't give you "homework." Together we come up with experiments that help you put into practice the things we discuss in the room. You can't get an experiment right or wrong -- you can only make discoveries.
