Great to meet you!

Katie Badders, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Towson University and her graduate degree from University of Maryland School of Social Work. She works with adolescents and adults with a wide range of challenges including anxiety, mood, and substance use disorders. Katie began training and specializing in grief after the passing of her younger sister and she had difficulty finding a therapist for herself that provided grief therapy.

My approach to therapy

Katie provides an array of clinical services including psychotherapy, anger management, relaxation training, social skills training, addiction counseling, and grief counseling. She individualizes her techniques and approach to suit the needs of each of her clients sometimes utilizing creative materials including the use of pets, cinema, art, music, and game playing.

What you can expect from me

No matter the reason that a client enters therapy, Katie meets them where they are and offers treatment options that fit the client. Having coffee or tea together in a warm space helps to create a feeling where sharing is comfortable and worries can be left behind and picked back up the next session. For those that are greiving, you will learn to continue bonds and to move forward with your grief rather than "getting over it."
