Great to meet you!

I am trained as a generalist psychologist specializing in the treatment of eating and body image concerns (particularly among men) within a Health At Every Size framework. I also work with concerns of anxiety, depression, masculinity and gender roles, identity development, relationships, life transitions, and family-of-origin. I have experience in university counseling centers and outpatient community mental health working with adults across the age, socioeconomic, gender, & body size spectrums.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapy style is intentionally integrative, balancing Evidence Based Treatment modalities specific to your presenting concerns with acknowledgement that each person brings a unique set of experiences and intersecting identities that research may fail to capture. While I anchor towards interpersonal/psychodynamic and multicultural/feminist approaches, I pull from Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, and Dialectical Behavioral techniques as appropriate to help you achieve your goals

What you can expect from our first session

With increased understanding of ourselves and our experiences comes an enhanced ability to intentionally navigate the world and live a more fulfilling life. Taking a dynamic approach to therapy, I work most effectively with clients who want to increase their understanding of why they do what they do, and how past relationships (both with themselves and others) affect them now. It is with this new understanding that they can change patterns that are no longer working for them.
