Great to meet you!

As a veteran, former police officer, and therapist, I am deeply passionate about working with transitional age youth males, men, and their families. I strive to provide a variety of therapeutic services to support individuals and their loved ones through difficult times. My diverse background and experiences have equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to understand and address the unique challenges that this demographic faces. I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions, develop coping strategies, and ultimately work towards positive change. It is my honor to serve those who have served our country and I am dedicated to helping them navigate the complexities of life.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help my patients navigate and overcome their emotional and psychological challenges. CBT is a structured, goal-oriented form of therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. During our sessions, I work collaboratively with my patients to uncover the underlying beliefs that contribute to their distress. Together, we develop practical strategies to challenge and reframe these thoughts, fostering healthier emotional responses and behaviors. By integrating CBT techniques, I empower my patients to gain control over their mental health and improve their overall well-being.

I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support my patients in managing intense emotions and developing healthier coping mechanisms. DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices, focusing on balancing acceptance and change. During our sessions, I help patients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns while teaching skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. By integrating DBT, I empower my patients to navigate their emotional experiences more effectively, improve their relationships, and build a life worth living.

I work with couples in couples therapy to help partners strengthen their relationships and navigate challenges together. My approach involves creating a safe and neutral space where both partners can express their thoughts and feelings openly. I focus on improving communication, fostering empathy, and resolving conflicts by identifying and addressing underlying issues. Through structured sessions, I guide couples in developing healthier interaction patterns, enhancing emotional connection, and building mutual respect. By working collaboratively, I empower couples to rebuild trust, deepen their bond, and achieve a more fulfilling and harmonious relationship.

What you can expect from our first session

My goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of your concerns. We’ll explore the dynamics of your relationships, delve into your personal values and morals, and get to know you better as an individual. This holistic approach helps me tailor our sessions to best support your journey towards well-being.

I find immense fulfillment in helping men navigate life’s challenges and fostering strong, healthy relationships within families and couples. Together, we can create a path to healing, growth, and connection.
