Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Melissa Gluck, a licensed psychologist and the founder of Gluck Psychology Collective in New York City.

I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, dating and attachment concerns, burnout, life transitions, self-worth struggles, perfectionism, and the pressure of trying to hold it all together. Many of my clients are high-achieving professionals, Gen Z and millennial adults, and people who are often the "strong one" for everyone else but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected underneath.

I earned my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida and have spent the past decade working in university counseling centers, private practice, and outpatient settings. My approach integrates psychodynamic and relational therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work, and practical evidence-based tools to help clients create meaningful, lasting change.

Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and honest. I believe insight is important, but insight alone isn't always enough. Together, we'll explore the patterns that keep showing up in your life, understand where they come from, and build new ways of responding that feel more aligned with the person you want to be.

My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, feel genuinely understood, and leave each session with greater clarity, self-compassion, and confidence in yourself.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who truly gets you, while also helping you make meaningful changes in your life.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct. I don't sit silently and nod, but I also won't tell you what to do. Instead, we'll work together to understand what's beneath the surface of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so you can make choices that feel more intentional and aligned with who you are.

Many of my clients come to therapy because they're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in relationship patterns, struggling with self-worth, navigating a life transition, or simply feeling like they're carrying too much on their own. Together, we'll explore both what's happening right now and the experiences that may have shaped the way you relate to yourself and others.

I blend deeper insight-oriented work with practical tools and strategies. Depending on your needs, our sessions may focus on understanding relationship dynamics, building healthier boundaries, processing difficult experiences, challenging unhelpful patterns, improving communication, or developing skills to manage anxiety and stress more effectively.

Above all, I want therapy to be a space where you feel comfortable being fully yourself. My goal is to help you gain clarity, trust yourself more deeply, strengthen your relationships, and create a life that feels more fulfilling and authentic.

What you can expect from me

The first session is all about getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy.

We'll talk about what's been going on in your life, what challenges you're facing, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping will feel different as a result of therapy. I'll ask questions about your relationships, family background, work or school life, and any important experiences that may help me understand the bigger picture.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you start. Many clients come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin. My job is to help organize the pieces and identify patterns, themes, and goals together.

Clients often tell me they're surprised by how comfortable and conversational the first session feels. My goal is to create an environment that is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative while also helping you leave with a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to your struggles and how we can work toward meaningful change.

By the end of our first session, we'll typically have a sense of your goals, discuss what therapy might look like moving forward, and determine whether we're a good fit for working together.
