I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. Patient's describe me as "easy to talk to" and "I feel like you listened to me." I work with patients struggling with depression, grief/loss, anxiety, anger issues, and life transitions. Life can be hard, let me help you turn things around in the direction you wish to go! I provide medication management as well as supportive therapy.
Firstly, I listen. I want to understand what you are struggling with and determine how best to improve those issues. You are not going to get to the end of an appointment being prescribed a medication and simply being told "see you in 4 weeks." I go over your diagnosis, discuss medication options (including potential side effects, risks and benefits) and answer your questions. I am here to help you solve problems, not make them.
You will feel comfortable in our visit, it's not like going to the dentist :) I am down to earth and will explain things so that by the time we finish you will know the plan and what to expect. We will be striving for improvement in your ability to function in life through either prescribing of medications and/or supportive therapy.
