Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Nia Richardson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C). I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Maryland, Baltimore. I have been providing therapeutic services to adolescents and adults since 2014. I specialize in working with clients who have experienced depression, anxiety, trauma or ongoing stress.

My approach to therapy

The primary therapeutic model that I use in practice is Cognitive Behavior Therapy. This model allows me to assist my clients with managing their emotions and thoughts that are negatively affecting their life. I have also utilized Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) when working with adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma.

What you can expect from me

I make it a priority to meet my clients where they are. I also assist my clients with setting realistic therapeutic goals for themselves and provide them with a lot of encouragement along to way. Every step that my clients take towards meeting their therapeutic goals deserves to be acknowledged and celebrated. I make it known to my clients that as they are on their journey of improving their mental health they are not alone and have me as a part of their support system during this time.
