Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Norina Asante-Kellam, LCMHC, LPC. I’m a first-generation Ghanaian American, a mother of three, and a soul-centered therapist who has worked with children and adolescents for over a decade across school, clinical, and community settings. My work is grounded in both evidence-based approaches and deep respect for each child’s emotional, cultural, and developmental story.

I hold a BA in Psychology from Arizona State University and a Master’s in Clinical Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Transpersonal Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. My training helps me blend traditional therapy practices with a holistic, identity-affirming lens that honors the whole child — mind, body, and spirit.

I specialize in working with children and teens navigating anxiety, emotional regulation, identity exploration, family transitions, neurodivergence (including ADHD and autism spectrum traits), and the complexities of growing up in today’s world. I center Black children and children of color in my work and offer neurodivergent-affirming care that makes space for each child to feel seen, safe, and supported.

If you're looking for a therapist who will meet your child with compassion, curiosity, and care — and who will partner with you to support their growth — I’d be honored to walk alongside your family on this journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and child-centered. I work with children and adolescents ages 6 to 17, creating a safe and affirming space where they can explore their emotions, build resilience, and connect with their sense of self.

Rooted in transpersonal psychology, my work honors the whole child — not just their challenges, but also their spirit, creativity, and evolving identity. I integrate play-based and expressive therapies with mindfulness and evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), always tailoring my approach to fit the developmental stage and unique needs of each child.

I specialize in supporting Black children, children of color, and neurodivergent youth. My practice is identity-affirming and culturally responsive, with a deep respect for each child’s lived experience. Whether we’re working through anxiety, emotional regulation, life transitions, or identity exploration, my goal is to walk alongside each young person — and their caregivers — with compassion, curiosity, and care.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect sessions with me to feel supportive, grounding, and empowering — a space where children and teens feel seen, heard, and valued for who they are.

For the children and adolescents I work with (ages 6–17), sessions are designed to help them better understand their feelings, develop healthy coping tools, build self-esteem, and deepen their sense of identity and belonging. Whether we’re using play, storytelling, mindfulness, or open conversation, I follow the child’s lead while gently guiding toward insight and growth.

Parents and caregivers can expect to feel included and supported throughout the process. I collaborate with families to offer practical tools, emotional insight, and developmental understanding to strengthen connection at home.

Above all, clients leave with a deeper sense of self, more confidence in navigating life’s challenges, and the experience of being held in a space where their wholeness is always honored.
