Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Rick Rodgers, an LCSW with 10 years of professional experience. I am based out of Terre Haute, Indiana, and am licensed to serve clients across Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, New Hampshire, and Texas through telehealth, alongside providing in-person sessions in Terre Haute.

My practice focuses entirely on serving adults, high performers, and driven individuals who feel stuck despite being acutely aware of their mental and behavioral patterns. I specialize in addressing anger management, insomnia and sleep issues, and trauma/PTSD. I also support individuals navigating ADHD, autism, substance misuse, addiction, and relationship conflicts. My ultimate focus is entirely on you as an individual person rather than a diagnosis, ensuring that our work is tailored specifically to how you actually think, feel, and operate.

My approach to therapy

I operate as an active somatic therapist rather than just a traditional talk therapist. My approach is structured, interactive, and heavily focused on the nervous system to promote regulation, sustainable recovery, and clear day-to-day functioning. I work especially well with clients who feel that traditional, unstructured talk therapy hasn't given them the progress they need, and who are ready to move beyond just understanding their problems to actively changing them.

Because stress, trauma, and overwhelm hold a physical presence in our bodies—showing up as chronic tension, fatigue, or an overactive nervous system that can't wind down—I integrate body-based and evidence-based methods. My style combines elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) with practical somatic practices, mindfulness, breathwork, restorative yoga, and Yoga Nidra. By bridging the mind and physiology, I help you train your nervous system to handle pressure, manage intense mood shifts, and experience lasting stability.

What you can expect from me

You can expect your first session to be a structured, collaborative starting point entirely free of high-pressure interviews or deep dives into old, painful stories right away. I prioritize creating an environment that feels grounded, practical, and highly focused on where you are at this exact moment and where you want to go.

Instead of allowing you to feel lost or left to ramble without aim, we will begin looking at how your mind and body currently operate. The goal of our initial time together is to establish a clear roadmap, figure out what real momentum looks like for you, and begin introducing usable, daily tools that train your system to slow down, rest, and recover effectively.
