Great to meet you!

Sam Walker (She/Her) prides herself on being a joyful and devoted helping professional. She earned her BA in Psychology, with a minor in French Language, from University of Texas at Arlington, and went on to complete her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Amberton University. She has worked with children, teens, parents, and families, and her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each client or family. She has a deep commitment to LGBTQI+, neurodivergent, and multicultural affirming therapy. She brings a unique social collectivist perspective to her counseling approach and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy, and narrative techniques within a trauma-informed framework. This allows her to support clients with both evidence-based tools and deeply personal, story-centered healing work in order to honor their past while helping them move toward a more hopeful future.

My approach to therapy

Sam believes that therapy isn’t just about addressing what causes pain, it’s also about rediscovering what brings meaning, connection, and joy. She works with clients not only to heal and navigate life’s difficulties, but also to reconnect with their strengths, values, and sense of purpose, and support both emotional resilience and everyday fulfillment.
