Great to meet you!

What if you could stop “managing” your mental health? I work with individuals whose lives are “complicated,” deeply understand why they do what they do, and still can’t seem to get better. With a focus on "intellectualizers”, trauma, and chronic illness, I work with folks who are sick of coping, and want to start healing.

As a therapist, I got sick and tired of seeing clients get told that deep-breathing and “reframing” will solve all of their problems. That’s when I started focusing on evidenced-based approaches that target the “why” behind people’s distress.

My approach to therapy

My work is based in psychodynamic and relational therapy. I also incorporate drama therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and somatic therapy into my work. Clients will not find a "blank slate" therapist with me! I incorporate my genuine self, including humor, into our work together. My style is often described as direct and honest.

What you can expect from me

Clients typically leave our sessions with a greater understanding of why they do the things they do. They also leave with tools to help make different choices based on this new understanding. Many of my clients experience significant improvements in their anxious symptoms and fewer distressing trauma-related symptoms. For many clients, we are also working to improve boundaries, relational skills, and advocacy skills.
