Great to meet you!

Kindly note: At this time, my practice is focused on supporting parents with children ages 6 and under. I am currently accepting new clients for daytime appointments only, between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi there—I’m Stephanie, a mental health counselor who specializes in supporting parents in the early years of parenthood (a.k.a. the “sleep-deprived, overstimulated, and constantly Googling something” years). Whether you're feeling burnt out, short-fused (been there!), or your young child is having big feelings or baffling behaviors, I'm here to help you find steadier ground. You can expect a judgment-free space where you feel seen, supported, and better equipped to meet the challenges of early parenthood—without losing yourself in the process.

I’m especially passionate about helping parents who are:

  • overwhelmed by the emotional intensity and mental load of parenting
  • struggling with uncertainty, guilt or regret over how they've responded to their child
  • experiencing rage or shutdown in moments of stress
  • feeling disconnected from their child or from their own identity as a parent
  • trying to break painful or outdated generational patterns
  • navigating grief, anxiety, or other life transitions while raising young kids

If you're carrying heavy feelings—like guilt, shame, worry or even unexpected rage—you're not alone, and you're not broken. Therapy can offer relief, clarity, and practical tools to support both you and your child.

My approach to therapy

Overall, my approach is warm, practical, and evidence-informed. I aim to provide guidance and tools that are applicable in everyday life while also attending to deeper emotional and relational needs.

I use principles of emotional regulation to help clients recognize, understand, and manage their own emotions as well as support their children in developing healthy coping skills. Drawing from attachment theory, I focus on the ways early experiences with caregivers shape emotional bonds, helping parents build secure, responsive connections with their children. My understanding of child development guides my interventions, ensuring that strategies and expectations are appropriate for each child’s developmental age and stage.

Therapy with me can include individual therapy for you, joint parent-child sessions, or a combination of each of these.

Parent-only sessions often involve a combination of exploring and addressing challenges that impact parenting, while also building skills to improve everyday parenting moments, reduce shame and anxiety, foster greater self-compassion and confidence, and deepen understanding of both themselves and their child.

Joint sessions with parent and child are interactive and involve live coaching in strategies to give parents' tools to enhance the parent-child bond and effectively respond to challenging behaviors.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a gentle introduction. We’ll talk about what’s been feeling hard, what brought you to therapy, and what you're hoping will feel different. If you're seeking support around your child, I’ll also ask about their personality, development, and the behaviors or transitions you're most concerned about. This is a collaborative, no-pressure space—many parents come in feeling overwhelmed by guilt or struggling with reactivity, anger, or worries that consume them. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. I’ll guide us through the process at a pace that feels right for you. The goal is for you to feel safe, understood, and hopeful about the path ahead.
