Tara Etemad-Haary

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Orange County, California. I specialize in working with adults who feel overwhelmed in relationships, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to change. Many of my clients are thoughtful and self-aware, yet still struggle with shame, emotional intensity, or a sense of emptiness. My background includes years of work in relational trauma and substance use, and I bring both depth and steadiness to the therapy space.

I believe we heal through new experiences in relationships, especially when our struggles were shaped within them. My approach is relational and attachment-focused, which means we pay attention to patterns that show up in your life and in our work together. I help clients slow down, understand their emotions, and build a more stable sense of self. Therapy with me is about lasting change that feels natural and part of your day-to-day life.

Our first session is a space to slow down, get grounded, and begin getting acquainted. I will ask what is bringing you in and what you hope might feel different over-time. If you're unsure, we can discover that together. It can be difficult to imagine a life you have not experienced yet. My hope is that you leave feeling understood rather than judged, and a little more settled about the path ahead.
