Great to meet you!

I have been working as a therapist for the past 40 years in a variety of settings and contexts. Much of my experience has focused on supporting children, adolescents, and their families through emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. I spent 18 years working in a high school setting and have also worked with a range of nonprofit agencies throughout my career, giving me extensive experience supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

I approach therapy as a partnership and strive to support clients in working through whatever challenges they may be facing with compassion, honesty, and understanding. I believe that healing happens through connection, trust, and feeling genuinely supported. I also believe humor is an essential part of the healing process, and when appropriate, I like to bring warmth and lightness into the work we do together.

My approach to therapy

I tend to be pragmatic in my approach, focusing on understanding each client’s unique needs and goals while creating a process that feels both supportive and appropriately challenging. I believe therapy should be practical and meaningful, helping clients make changes that genuinely improve their everyday lives.

I strive to remain flexible and tailor my approach to what works best for each individual. By adapting techniques and pacing to fit your personality, experiences, and comfort level, we can create a therapeutic process that feels collaborative, effective, and supportive of lasting growth.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other through conversation, questions, and gathering some general background information. We’ll explore your current concerns, what may be bringing you to therapy, and the goals you hope to work toward.

This initial meeting is also an opportunity to begin building comfort and trust, while helping me better understand your experiences and how I can best support you moving forward. My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive environment where you feel heard and understood from the start.
