Theresa Benson

I am a clinical psychologist licensed in Illinois and New Mexico. I have over 20 years experience working with college students and adults across the lifespan. I have earned a masters degree in holistic health education and a doctorate in counseling psychology, which informs my strength-based, holistic approach to therapy. Additionally, I am a registered expressive arts therapist (REAT), a registered expressive arts consultant educator (REACE), and an Internal Family Systems trained therapist.

I believe that creating a trusting, collaborative relationship will provide the necessary support needed to work through challenges and move toward self-healing. I use a person-centered approach incorporating mindful awareness so that you will receive a holistic approach to care. I specialize in working with college students. I also have extensive experience working with adults across the lifespan deal with a range of anxiety disorders from generalized anxiety to post-traumatic stress disorder.
