Great to meet you!

I am a trauma-informed LGBTQIA+-affirming licensed professional clinical counselor (Ohio). It is important to me to work with a diverse population with a variety of presenting issues. I have experience working with clients with traumatic stress injuries, dealing with issues of identity, struggling with self-criticism and feelings of shame, having difficulties related to anxiety and depression, experiencing panic attacks and clients experiencing obsessive thinking or compulsions. I am passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals and aim to provide an open and affirming counseling experience to all of my clients. I received my Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University in 2022.

My approach to therapy

I am integrative in my work with clients, drawing from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), EMDR, schema therapy, and compassion-focused therapy (CFT). I frequently use experiential exercises with clients including imagery work. My integrative approach offers flexibility and alternatives for clients who have had limited success with traditional CBT.

I work with my clients from a place of compassion, acknowledging their expertise on their own experience, and supporting them as a fellow traveler in the journey of life. I believe in working with both the past and the present to build skills for managing current difficulties while addressing the origins of current patterns of thinking and behaving.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will focus learning where you are at in life and how you got there. This initial session is about both getting an idea of the big picture and focusing in on what brings you to counseling and what you are hoping to change.
