Great to meet you!

My name is Carrie and I am an LCSW-C licensed in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Maine. My clinical focus and specialties are on trauma and grief. I work closely with people as they navigate high pressure environments or transitions/changes in life circumstances. For over 20 years, I have specialized in helping individuals and systems navigate change, heal from trauma and loss, and ultimately, find their path toward growth.

My approach to therapy

As an EMDR therapist, my hope is to help clients heal from difficult or overwhelming experiences in a way that feels safe and structured. My approach is warm, collaborative, and paced with care. Using the EMDR framework, we will spend time building trust, strengthening coping skills, and making sure you feel supported. My goal is to help you feel safe, understood, and empowered as you move toward healing and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you—what brings you in, what you’ve been carrying, and what you hope will feel different as therapy goes on. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, ensuring you have space to share as much (or as little!) as you’d like. There’s no pressure to tell your whole story right away. You can expect a warm, grounded, and collaborative conversation where you’re met with curiosity, respect, and care. My goal is for you to leave feeling understood, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
