Great to meet you!

I started my work with infants and young children, guided by a simple belief: when we understand the meaning behind behavior, everything in a family can begin to shift. I use play as a primary way to connect with children and understand their inner world. Through play, children express thoughts and feelings they may not yet have words for. By joining them in this space, I’m able to better understand their experiences and help them feel seen, supported, and safe.

My path to becoming a therapist began in children’s media, where I spent fifteen years project managing educational content. That experience shaped how I see children today—curious, expressive, and constantly communicating, even without words.

I went on to earn my Master’s degree from New York University, training at the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Center, where I deepened my understanding of how music and play can help children feel seen, regulated, and understood.

My clinical work has included early intervention, a specialized school for autistic children and young adults, and an elementary school supporting students with hearing loss and communication differences. Across these settings, I saw how powerful it is when a child is truly met where they are.

In 2023, I founded Sound Mind to create a more individualized, relationship-based practice—one where I can connect deeply and tailor my work to each child and family.

My approach to therapy

I bring a warm, playful, and creative energy to our space, always shaped by what a child brings. I specialize in strength-based play and art therapy, integrating evidence-based practices tailored to your child's needs. Since play is one of the main ways kids express themselves, I focus on meeting my clients in that space—while also keeping the bigger picture and the reasons they’re in therapy in mind. My approach blends creativity, spontaneity, and warmth to foster authentic self-expression. I trust children to lead through play, and by meeting them with care and sensitivity, I build a relationship that honors their unique goals and needs.

I create a non-judgmental and open environment where therapy allows for laughter, art, spontaneity, and connection. I meet each child with empathy and presence, laying a foundation of safety from which they can explore their tender or tangled inner experiences.

What you can expect from me

A safe and nurturing environment where children can enhance their emotional, social, cognitive, and physical well-being through engaging activities such as singing, playing instruments, listening to music, creating art, and other forms of playful, creative expression.

This therapy is highly individualized, drawing on each child’s unique interests to build confidence and strengthen coping skills. Specific benefits may include improved communication and social interaction, enhanced motor skills and coordination, and greater emotional regulation. Parents are also supported with strategies to use at home, helping to reinforce their child’s progress.
