Great to meet you!

Corie Schoeneberg, PhD is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist–Supervisor, and a Board-Certified Counselor. Dr. Corie Schoeneberg specializes in trauma in adults and children, childhood mental health, and attachment. She offers trauma-informed counseling for individuals navigating the effects of both recent traumatic events and complex, long-standing trauma. Through EMDR, play therapy, or other advanced counseling models prescriptively selected for each client, her approach is grounded in empathy, clinical expertise, and a commitment to personalized care. Dr. Schoeneberg also incorporates expressive and creative therapies, tailored to each client’s personality, preferences, and processing style. These may include sandtray, art, movement, or other non-traditional modalities that foster healing in a safe and engaging way. Clients are active collaborators in their therapy. They are informed of their options, empowered to choose what feels most comfortable, and supported every step of the way. Treatment is always individualized, transparent, and respectful of each person’s journey.

What you can expect from me

Counseling is a deeply personal experience, and it’s normal to feel unsure or overwhelmed at the beginning. My hope is to meet you right where you are, create a sense of safety and connection, and help you recognize the strength you already have to move toward healing and growth. During our first session, I’ll spend time getting to know you and what you are seeking from counseling, and we will make a plan together for how to reach your goals. I welcome the chance to hear from you and to answer any questions you have.
