Great to meet you!

David Gallagher, MSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut in 2008 and began my career as an in-home clinician, where I developed a strong foundation in providing individualized, compassionate care.

Much of my work has centered on helping youth and families with trauma histories navigate challenges, build resilience, and strengthen relationships. I have had the privilege of working with children as young as 4, adolescents navigating complex transitions, and parents seeking guidance and support.

My approach to therapy

I believe in a collaborative and strengths-based approach to therapy. I believe in meeting clients where they are, creating a safe and supportive space, and tailoring strategies that empower growth and healing. Whether working with individuals or families, I focus on fostering connection, promoting emotional well-being, and supporting long-term positive change.

What you can expect from me

During your first session with me, you’ll have the opportunity to share what brought you to therapy in a safe and supportive space. Together, we will begin co-creating person-centered goals and objectives tailored to your needs, while also giving you a chance to get to know me and the values I bring into my work. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and supported, with a clearer sense of direction for your therapeutic journey.
