Great to meet you!

I've been a Mental Health Therapist in private practice since 2012. I received my Master's degree in Seattle, WA and have been practicing in Walla Walla, WA since 2022. I love working with many different ages and demographics and like to keep an open mind and stance as we get to know one another.

Being a therapist is rewarding to me on many levels. I believe it's both my responsibility and privilege to join people where they are, whether they're struggling through a difficult life event, moving through a life transition, or grappling with their meaning and purpose. The relationship of trust we develop is one of the most important foundations to successful therapy. And it will be a primary value during our work together. People often describe me as warm and compassionate, with a grounding presence and gentle approach to the work. Alongside a little humor and challenging nudges towards growth.

My approach to therapy

My technical approach to therapy is based on three therapeutic modals: Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Narrative therapy, and Relational therapy. I will combine these approaches differently with each client to best serve what you are seeking in treatment. I have found these techniques work best in conjunction and can be helpful tools for reflection and growth. Using these techniques we will work to understand your story, your patterns of thoughts and behaviors, how you might want to change, and gain an understanding of how this impacts your relationship to yourself and others.

Just as important to gaining understanding & insight is learning how to move forward. I believe building resilience to move through hard times is essential to your growth and ability to bounce back more quickly from setbacks. This is a main component we will focus on in your therapy alongside your other goals.

What you can expect from me

My hope for your therapy is to help you meet your desired goals. What I also hope to cultivate while tending to these goals is your ability to find and listen to your own voice. And to build trust and acceptance within yourself so that you develop your own trusted compass by the time you leave therapy. I believe in helping clients develop lifelong skills to help navigate their lives after therapy.
