Great to meet you!

I believe healing starts with understanding, not just your symptoms, but your story. As an LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent therapist, I bring lived experience alongside evidence-based care. I’m also the author of books on neurodivergence and neuroaffirming mental health, including Unscramble Your Brain and The Neuroaffirming Therapy Guide. My work is relational, trauma-informed, parts-informed, and neuroaffirming, with a strong emphasis on safety, trust, and consistency in the therapeutic relationship. I work best with clients who want a collaborative, engaged therapy process and are curious about how early relationships, identity, and nervous system patterns continue to shape their lives. We don’t avoid the hard things, but we also don’t rush them. Sessions are grounded, honest, and human; often thoughtful, sometimes gently humorous, and always respectful of your pace. I frequently support clients navigating anxiety, attachment wounds, neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ identity stress, trauma, and the impact of chronic invalidation or ableism. Please note: I currently work with adults only and do not provide couples therapy or services for children or adolescents.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, direct, and emotionally attuned. I’m not a blank slate, and I don’t expect you to be. Therapy with me is active and relational, with room for reflection, practical skill-building, and making sense of deeper patterns and experiences. I integrate approaches such as CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment-informed work, using them flexibly rather than rigidly. More than techniques alone, I pay close attention to patterns: how you relate to others, how you relate to yourself, and what happens in moments of closeness, stress, or uncertainty. I value authenticity, thoughtful psychoeducation, and helping clients develop a steadier internal sense of safety. My goal is not to “fix” you, but to help you understand yourself more clearly and move through the world with greater self-trust and agency.

What you can expect from me

Clients often say they leave sessions feeling understood rather than analyzed. Early sessions focus on building trust, making sense of your history, clarifying what you want from therapy, and identifying patterns that may be keeping you stuck. You can expect thoughtful questions, meaningful reframes, and practical next steps that feel relevant to your actual life. This is not a space for performing wellness or having the “right” answers. Rather, it’s a space for curiosity, growth, and developing a more compassionate relationship with yourself. I work best with adults who value connection, self-reflection, and an engaged therapeutic relationship, particularly those who are neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, or healing from relational or developmental trauma.
