Dr. Ileana is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who has served in various roles in the mental health field. She has worked directly with clients who present with varying mental health conditions and are of different cultural backgrounds. Dr. Ileana attended undergraduate school in San Antonio, Texas, and received both her graduate and doctoral training in Corpus Christi, Texas. While studying in Corpus Christi, Dr. Ileana focused her research efforts on working with individuals of marginalized populations and parents of children with exceptionalities. Dr. Ileana has worked with children and families for over 18 years and made her transition to the private sector after seeing the rising need for mental health clinicians across communities. She has spent much of her work with children and adolescents who have faced challenges with transition, trauma, and mental health disorders and works with clients facing life transitions, family conflicts, parenting issues, and coping with grief, loss.

My approach to therapy

Based on client's needs, Dr. Ileana's preferred treatment modality is Client Centered and eclectic which includes Acceptance and Commitment, Cognitive Behavioral, and Motivational Interviewing.
