I help clients work through anxiety and trauma in a way that feels human, supportive, and grounded. Therapy doesn’t have to feel cold or clinical—I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where healing can actually happen.
My approach is holistic, combining emotional processing with practical tools for everyday life. It’s not just about understanding the past—it’s about building the skills you need to thrive in the present. I tailor my work to each person’s unique needs, especially when supporting trauma survivors, neurodivergent individuals (including those with ADHD or autism), and those managing PTSD, trauma or grief.

Welcome! I'm Dr. Ben Osevwe, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 22 years of experience in mental health care, including over 4.5 years as a PMHNP. I founded Solid Foundation Psychiatry with one mission: to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and personalized psychiatric care that empowers individuals to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
I work with adolescents and adults ages 12 through 90, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy. I believe that effective mental health treatment goes beyond prescribing medication. Every visit is an opportunity to listen, educate, collaborate, and develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique goals, values, and life circumstances.
My clinical interests include ADHD, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), insomnia, mood disorders, and other psychiatric conditions. Whether you're seeking help for the first time or have struggled with symptoms for years, I strive to create a safe, respectful, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns.
I provide both in-person psychiatric care in Pearland, Texas, serving the greater Houston area, and telepsychiatry to patients in states where I am licensed. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with psychotherapy and lifestyle recommendations.
My philosophy is simple: Every person deserves to be heard, treated with dignity, and given the tools to thrive. I believe healing begins with a trusting relationship, open communication, and a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.
It is a privilege to be part of your mental health journey, and I look forward to partnering with you to help you build resilience, restore hope, and achieve lasting emotional wellness.
My primary goal is to provide a helping hand to clients in need. Clients will find that I am able to listen and provide helpful strategies to help navigate through whatever journey they find themselves on. Whether it be a young child, adolescent, or adult, I am able to keep them at the center of the therapeutic process and help them discover peace and purpose.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston and obtained a Masters of Education in Counselor Education from the University of St. Thomas. I was an educator for 13 years including 5 as a school counselor/administrator.
As a school counselor, I have assisted students with disabilities, trauma, mood and personality disorders. I have also worked with parents who find themselves in a cycle that they feel cannot be broken. My intention is to help clients identify hurts, hang-ups, and habits that keep them from living to their full potential and work through them.
I am EMDR trained and provide trauma informed care. I have also utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and various interventions from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to treat clients with anxiety, depression, and self-harming behaviors.
Whatever it is you are facing, I am willing to listen and provide sound care. As a fellow human, I understand the needs that can arise from trauma, hurt, and misunderstanding. If you are in need of an ear to hear and a heart to care, please contact me. I am here to help.
Life is a Journey. On this Journey we're faced with many twists & turns. My practice style is collaborative in nature. It focuses on joint commitment to change. Yet eclectic enough to incorporate different approaches that will help clients as they write and re-write their stories to transform their reality. Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Searching for therapists in Lake Jackson starts with knowing what kind of support you want. Therapists may work with concerns like anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, stress, trauma, and life transitions. As you compare options, look for someone whose listed specialties, training, and therapy approach match what you want to address. Reading profiles can help you see whether a therapist uses approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, or trauma-informed care.
In a smaller city like Lake Jackson, local in-person options may be more limited than in larger Texas metro areas. Virtual therapy can expand your choices while still connecting you with a therapist licensed in Texas. As you narrow your search, consider appointment availability, scheduling flexibility, whether a therapist is accepting new clients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. A therapist’s bio can also show how they structure sessions, communicate, and work with people who share your concerns.
Therapy in Lake Jackson can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and see your estimated cost before booking. Headway helps you search for therapists who match your preferences, view insurance information, and are accepting new clients. You can compare profiles, check availability, and book directly when you’re ready.
