Great to meet you!

I am a licensed professional counselor who specializes in working with gay men seeking depth oriented, trauma informed therapy. Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, capable, and self aware, yet carry long standing patterns shaped by shame, family or religious experiences, and early messages about sexuality, masculinity, and belonging.

Gay men often learn to adapt early, to stay safe, to be self sufficient, or to perform in ways that are acceptable to others. Over time, those adaptations can show up as anxiety, disconnection, difficulty with intimacy, or a sense of feeling unseen, even in relationships.

My style is warm, collaborative, and affirming. I aim to create a space where you do not have to explain or justify your identity, and where we can work honestly and thoughtfully with what you are carrying.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, trauma informed, and depth oriented. I help clients explore how early experiences, including family dynamics, religious environments, cultural messages, and past relationships, have shaped their emotional world and patterns of relating.

In our work together, we pay attention to emotions, attachment patterns, and lived experience, including how things show up in your body and in the therapeutic relationship itself. This allows for deeper and more lasting change than approaches focused only on managing symptoms.

Therapy is collaborative and paced with care. The goal is not to fix or pathologize you, but to help you develop greater self understanding, emotional safety, and self compassion, so that relationships, intimacy, and self expression can feel more authentic and less driven by fear or shame.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a chance to begin building a sense of safety and connection. We will talk about what has brought you to therapy, including any experiences related to sexuality, relationships, faith, or identity that feel important to name.

You do not need to have a clear narrative or specific goals going in. Many gay men come to therapy feeling unsure how to talk about what they are experiencing, and that is completely welcome here.

My aim in the first session is for you to feel heard, respected, and less alone, and to leave with a clearer sense of whether this feels like a supportive place to continue your work.
